The work of this professional association BHQL is not completely off.

The Royal Decree has a large part (but not all) of the measures in the Code of good practice of Bhql adopted and made mandatory. This royal decree on January 1, 2006 entered into force, the voluntary initiatives, linked to the label, made redundant.

The existing legislation contains a number of points that can be improved and this remains the view of the professional is really necessary. There are also cases where the Belgian State has not yet developed regulations that are interesting, both for the authorities, professionals, and consumers (eg on the composition of the inks)

The Bhql would therefore continue to remain on the advisory professionals, governments and ordinary consumers.

The bhql has - through its role as an umbrella organization - also made important contacts with the European authorities and is recently involved in a major international project (ie "CORNET") which will take several years. This is part of scientific research within EURANET network and will include the bhql (consulted only professional club in Europe) prepare a European directive which would later serve as a basis for European legislation on tattooing, piercing and permanent make-up.

Therefore - and taking into account the fact that the intended purpose does not mean the issue of labels - has BHQL its name changed: now it is not Belgian Hygiene Quality Label but Belgian Hygiene Quality League.

Bhql will develop general knowledge and that based on the code of good practice 'quality' for permanent make up and tattoo.
